How to Re-arm the Manual Inflator

Re-arming the UML Mk5 Automatic Inflator is quite simple.

  • Ensure you have the correct re-arm kit for the model of lifejacket as lifejackets require different Co² Cylinders and automatic inflation mechanisms.

The re-arming kit will contain:
The correct Co² Cylinder type and size.
A Manual Green Indicator.

  • Always refer to the lifejacket instruction manual in conjunction with these instructions and keep to service intervals.
  • Lifejackets should be regularly serviced by an authorised service agent.
  • Re-arming kits should be kept on board for use after an emergency.

With the Co² cylinder at the top follow the steps below to re-arm:

  1. Remove the Co² Cylinder from the firing head by unscrewing in an anti - clockwise direction. You will notice a hole were the cylinder has been pierced. Discard the used cylinder before proceeding.
  2. Push the lever back in position and clip the indicator into place.
  3. Check to ensure there is a white 'O' Ring or black washer at the bottom of the thread were Co² Cylinder screws in.
  4. Check the new Co² Cylinder has not been used and screw into the inflator body in a clockwise direction. Ensure the cylinder is screwed fully home as tightly as possible (hand tight).
  5. Refer to manufactures instructions to repack the lifejacket correctly.
