How to Re-arm the Manual Inflator
Re-arming the UML Mk5 Automatic Inflator is quite simple.
- Ensure you have the correct re-arm kit for the model of lifejacket as lifejackets require different Co² Cylinders and automatic inflation mechanisms.
The re-arming kit will contain: The correct Co² Cylinder type and size. A Manual Green Indicator.
- Always refer to the lifejacket instruction manual in conjunction with these instructions and keep to service intervals.
- Lifejackets should be regularly serviced by an authorised service agent.
- Re-arming kits should be kept on board for use after an emergency.
With the Co² cylinder at the top follow the steps below to re-arm:
- Remove the Co² Cylinder from the firing head by unscrewing in an anti - clockwise direction. You will notice a hole were the cylinder has been pierced. Discard the used cylinder before proceeding.
- Push the lever back in position and clip the indicator into place.
- Check to ensure there is a white 'O' Ring or black washer at the bottom of the thread were Co² Cylinder screws in.
- Check the new Co² Cylinder has not been used and screw into the inflator body in a clockwise direction. Ensure the cylinder is screwed fully home as tightly as possible (hand tight).
- Refer to manufactures instructions to repack the lifejacket correctly.
